The Advanced Practice Provider team at Cincinnati Children’s invites you to participate in the 22nd Annual Advanced Practice Provider Regional Conference, May 1, 2020, at Great Wolf Lodge, Mason, Ohio.

This is the call for abstracts for Podium and Poster Presentations.

Submissions are encouraged from all Advanced Practice Nurses and Physician Assistants for topics related to pediatric practice.

This conference will feature clinical practice updates related to Advanced Practice. In addition, we will highlight the contributions of Advanced Practice Providers in relation to education, research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement. 

All submissions should indicate if they are seeking consideration for either podium or poster presentation. If you are submitting for a poster presentation, you will have the option to indicate if you would like to be considered for a podium presentation as well.

Podium: Speakers will present interactive clinical content to the audience for 50 minute presentation with 10 minutes for question and answer.

Poster: Accepted posters will be displayed during the conference on a provided display (approx. 4’ x 6’). All posters should be printed on vinyl or cloth.

Abstract submissions will close October 15, 2019, at Noon, EST.

Submission Requirements:

Limit of 1 presenter per abstract

Completed electronic bio- disclosure for the presenter and any listed authors


1-2 learning objectives

Intended audience: Primary Care or Acute Care

500 total word limit

Should reflect one of the following categories:

Poster Presentations:

Education – Leadership, advocacy, ethics, education, public policy

Evidence-based practice


Quality Improvement

Podium Presentation: We are specifically looking for speakers to present on the following topics but will consider all pediatric dynamic content experts: Common pediatric primary care illnesses, ENT update, Dermatology, Antibiotic update, Mental Health, Neonatal topics: neonatal abstinence syndrome, congenital defects, Acute Care Management (trauma, cerebral edema, transplant)


Criteria for Review: Scoring for each criteria will be: Excellent=3, Good=2, Acceptable=1, Not acceptable=0

Criteria for Education: Title, Purpose and rationale, Program development, Program implementation, Outcomes, and Evaluation.

Criteria for Evidence-Based Practice: Title, Problem/Issue background and rationale, Critical appraisal of evidence, Project/EBP practice change description, Evaluation, and Implications for practice.

Criteria for Research: Title, Background and significance, Purpose, Method, Results – discussion, and Conclusion.

Criteria for Quality Improvement: Title, Background/Problem, Objective, Method, Findings, and Conclusions/Implications for Practice.

Criteria for Podium Presentations:  Title, Presenter’s background/experience demonstrating expert status in content area, Previous speaking experience – link or file to prior speaking experience (if available), and How the presentation will engage the learner/be interactive (case studies, use of media).

All Abstracts must be received by October 15, 2019 at 12:00 pm (noon) EST. Authors will be notified of acceptance by early November 2019.  All accepted presenters must be able to attend the conference on May 1, 2020 and will be required to register.
