Submitted abstracts will be peer reviewed by the NEC Society’s Scientific Advisory Council. Authors whose abstracts are accepted will receive a time slot to present during the NEC Virtual Sessions.
Who should submit an abstract?
- Individuals/teams engaged in understanding the pathogenesis of NEC, improving the prevention and treatment of NEC, and/or driving patient-centered outcomes research
- Neonatal fellows and pediatric residents
- Surgical fellows and residents
- Nurses, pharmacists and dietitians
- Neonatal nurse practitioners and physician assistants
- Graduate students, medical students, post-docs, other scholars and researchers
Priority will be given to abstracts focused on the following aspects of neonatal NEC:
- Animal models of NEC
- Defining NEC
- Early detection and prevention
- Human milk
- Increasing research funding and awareness Innate immunity Lactoferrin
