Dr. Julie Ware is an experienced board-certified pediatrician who specializes in breastfeeding medicine.  She joined Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in September 2014 as a Community Breastfeeding Liaison and a member of the Center for Breastfeeding Medicine.  Her particular interest is improving maternal and child health through the promotion and support of breastfeeding, especially in those populations least likely to breastfeed.

 

Dr. Ware received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas, and completed her M.D. degree and Pediatric Residency training at Baylor College of Medicine.  After many years of general practice with focus on breastfeeding medicine, she recently completed her MPH degree at the University of Memphis.  She is a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, serving as both a Board Member and Conference Committee Chair.

 

Prior to moving to CCHMC, Dr. Ware chaired the Shelby County Breastfeeding Coalition and was a Co-Chapter Breastfeeding Coordinator for Tennessee AAP.  She continues to serve as a co-leader for the Tennessee Initiative for Perinatal Quality Care Breastfeeding Promotion Projects and is an elected member of the Executive Committee of the Section on Breastfeeding of the AAP.
