Jacqui is a licensed athletic trainer and currently the Performing Arts Medicine Program Manager for Mercy Health and Cincinnati Ballet. She grew up in Sanford, Florida taking ballet, tap and jazz at the School of Dance Arts. She continued to have a professional ballet career having danced with Cincinnati Ballet, New Orleans City Ballet, Cleveland Ballet, Southern Ballet Theatre and was also an apprentice with Boston Ballet. While working with Cincinnati Ballet Jacqui trained with the late James Truitte in the Horton technique. She has a BA in Dance from the University of South Florida and her Athletic Training certificate from the University of Cincinnati. While attending University of South Florida she studied the Merce Cunningham technique with the late Chase Robinson. Ms. Haas has certifications in Pilates instruction from St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco and Pilates for Rehabilitation from Polestar Education in Miami. She is also the Director of Dance Medicine Academic Seminars, speaking to dancers and healthcare practitioners throughout the United States on performing arts medicine and injury prevention. She has taught her workshops at West Virginia Dance Festival, Miami Valley Dance Teachers Association, Kentucky Ballet Theatre, Texas A and M Dance Dept., Florida Dance Masters and University of Cincinnati Dance Dept. to name a few. She has also presented dance medicine topics in Anaheim, St. Louis, Philadelphia and New Orleans for the National Athletic Trainers Association. Jacqui is proud to be the author of “Dance Anatomy”, the 1st and 2nd editions, a Human Kinetics publication. She has been a performing arts athletic training resource for the Greater Cincinnati Area since 1989 and a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science since 2006. Ms. Haas is also excited to be teaching Dance Physiology and Foundations at Northern Kentucky University, School of the Arts. Ms. Haas is currently working with Northern Kentucky University on her Masters in Integrative Studies with a focus on Health Sciences and Athletic Training.
