Overview

A one-day symposium for health care and community providers held to raise awareness of current mental health trends and their impact. Previous topics have included: anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, & ADHD.

In addition to breakout sessions for community based care providers – such as teachers and counselors – this year will feature two special morning breakout sessions intended for Physicians and Primary Care Providers Only.  This portion is designed by primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, psychologists, and psychiatrists specifically for pediatric primary care and will offer ABP MOC for pediatricians who attend and participate.  Primary Care Providers can choose to attend the only these two breakouts (8:15-11:30) and/or the remainder of the Symposium.

Meals
Breakfast and boxed lunches will be provided. Effort will be made to accommodate dietary restrictions.  However, participants with restrictive diets may want to make other arrangements.

Physician - All Day: $125
General Symposium Fee - $125
PCP - Morning Only: $65
Resource Fair - $600 per booth
Late fee begins 8/1/17

Purchase Orders: If paying by Purchase Order, all payments must be received within 30 days of the conference.
Cancellation policy:  Full refunds will be provided until August 1, 2017.  50% refunds will be provided until September 1, 2017.


Accreditation

Physician: Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Cincinnati Children's designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABP MOC Part 2: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity, with individual assessments of the participant and feedback to the participant, enables the participant to earn 3.0 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to the ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

Nursing: 6.5 contact hours will be awarded to nurses who attend the entire program and complete an evaluation tool.

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. (OBN-001-91) (OH-046, 9/1/2018).

Psychologists: Cincinnati Children’s is approved by the Ohio Psychological Association-CME Program to offer continuing education for psychologists.  Cincinnati Children’s (provider #310833936), maintains responsibility for the program.  This program is approved for 6.25 hours.

Counselors:
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is an approved provider of professional counselor continuing education credits by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, Provider #RCX111201.  This program is approved for 6.25 clock hours. Counselor program area: Methods of Intervention and Prevention.

Teachers, School Psychologists and School Counselor: The CCHMC Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) will award 6.75 credit hours or 0.675 CEU's for the Mental Health Symposium.  Final approval of Certificates of Participation will be determined by your LPDC.  Keep all Certificates of Participation with your Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP).

Social Work: Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is an approved provider of social work continuing education credits by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, Provider # RSX030902. This program is approved for 6.75 clock hours. Social Work program area: Methods.

DoDD: The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities has approved this activity for a maximum 6 hours of Service & Support Administration.
