Overview

A one-day symposium for health care and community providers held to raise awareness of current mental health trends and their impact. Previous topics have included: anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, & ADHD. 

This year will feature a special 4-hour course from 8:00-noon, intended for Physicians and Primary Care Providers Only.  This portion, led by Dr. Jen Bowden, is designed by primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, psychologists, and psychiatrists specifically for pediatric primary care.  Primary Care Providers can choose to attend the PCP Only portion and/or the remainder of the Symposium.

Meals

Breakfast and boxed lunches will be provided. Effort will be made to accommodate dietary restrictions.  However, participants with restrictive diets may want to make other arrangements.

Physician - All Day: $125
General Symposium Fee - $125
PCP - Morning Only: $65
Resource Fair - $600 per booth

Late fee begins 8/1/16



Purchase Orders: If paying by Purchase Order, all payments must be received within 30 days of the conference.

Cancellation policy:  Full refunds will be provided until August 1, 2016.  50% refunds will be provided until September 1, 2016


Accreditation

Physicians:  Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

This activity has been approved for 6.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

MOC*: (*Morning PCP Session Only):  This activity has been approved by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) for 10 MOC Part 2 Self-Assessment Points. 

Nursing: 5.25 contact hours will be awarded to nurses who attend the entire program and complete an evaluation tool.  Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Clinical & Family Counselors: Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is an approved provider of counselor continuing education units by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, provider number RCX111201.  This program is approved for 5.25 clock hours. Counselor program area: Diagnosis and Treatment of Mental and Emotional Disorders.

Social Work: Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is an approved provider of social work continuing education credits by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, Provider # RSX030902.  This program is approved for 5.25 clock hours. Social Work program area: Methods.

Psychologist: Cincinnati Children’s is approved by the Ohio Psychological Association-CME Program to offer continuing education for psychologists.  Cincinnati Children’s (provider #310833936), maintains responsibility for the program.  This program is approved for 6.0 hours.

Teachers, School Psychologists and School Counselors: The CCHMC Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) will be awarding continuing education units (CEU’s) for the Children of Addicted Parents Conference. Final approval of Certificates of Participation will be determined by the individual’s district LPDC. Keep all Certificates of Participation with your Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP).

DODD:  The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities has approved this activity for a maximum 4.5 Professional Development Units for the following certification types: Early Intervention (3.0), Investigative Agent (3.0), Superintendent (4.5), Service & Support (4.5).
