Overview

A one-day symposium for health care and community providers held to raise awareness of current mental health trends and their impact. Previous topics have included: anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, & ADHD.

Provider Intensive Session
2019 will feature a special afternoon intensive session, "Substance Abuse and Mental Health in Pediatrics," intended for Physicians, Primary Care Providers, Advanced Practice Nurses, and Physician Assistants Only. This portion is designed by Cincinnati Children’s, triple-board physicians from the Division of Psychiatry, specifically for pediatric primary care and will offer ABP & ABIM MOC Part 2 for pediatricians who attend and participate.  Primary Care Providers can choose to attend just the afternoon session (12:00pm-5:00pm) and/or the morning of the Symposium (8:00-12:00pm).

Meals
Continental breakfast and boxed lunches will be provided. Effort will be made to accommodate dietary restrictions.  However, participants with restrictive diets may want to make other arrangements.

Resource Fair

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

CME: Cincinnati Children’s designates this live format for a maximum of 6.25 (Symposium) / 3.75 (PCP Intensive) AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABP MOC Part 2 (PCP Session ONLY): Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn 3.5 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

Nursing: This activity is approved for a maximum 6.25 (Symposium) / 3.32 (PCP Intensive) continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours.

Ohio APRN Advanced Pharm Credit (PCP Session Only): This CE activity is designed for the additional hours required for APRNs with prescriptive authority in Ohio. (0.75 hours for the session "Treating Adolescents with Addiction: The Role of Medication-Assisted Treatment".

Social Work: Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is an approved provider of licensed professional counselor continuing education by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, provider number RSX030902 .  This symposium is approved for 6.25 clock hours.  Social work area: Methods.

Counseling: Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is an approved provider of licensed professional counselor continuing education by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, provider number RCX111201. This symposium is approved for 6.25 clock hours. Counseling area: Methods of Intervention and Prevention.

Psychology: Cincinnati Children’s is approved by the Ohio Psychological Association-CME Program to offer continuing education for psychologists.  Cincinnati Children’s (provider #310833936), maintains responsibility for the program.  This program is approved for 6.25 hours.

Teachers (LPDC): Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center LPDC IRN # 015024 is an approved provider of education credit by the Ohio Department of Education.  Final approval of Certificates of Participation will be determined by your Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC).  Keep all Certificates of Participation with your Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP).
