We know that breastfeeding positively impacts the life course of both maternal and child health, however, great inequities in breastfeeding initiation and duration rates still occur, particularly in the African American community.  We know that healthcare providers at all levels desire to be proactive in assisting all moms and families to make infant feeding choices that optimize the well-being of babies. Implicit bias plays a role in keeping us from applying our best effort in this endeavor. This conference will allow us to begin to unpack these biases in a safe space. We will learn how to help all mothers and babies reach their breastfeeding goals.

Note:  Registration fees have been reduced to help make the $10 parking fee more manageable.  Additionally, there will be conference staff and volunteers on site to help direct the way to the Tangeman Center.
