As Heroin terrorizes our region, the nation and the global community, child advocates in many fields recognize the medical, mental, educational and social welfare issues these children face. In partnership with the collaborative, Children of Addicted Parents, a conference to bring together the community of providers caring for these children will be held Tuesday, November 1st, 2016 at Cintas Center at Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH.

National and regional experts will address the issues affecting children living with addicted parents including, mental and emotional  effects, childhood resiliency and prevention of childhood addiction.

Conference Goals

•    Increased awareness about impact of NAS on different age levels (pre-school, grade school & high school).
•    Connect people who work with kids impacted by NAS to resources that will be able to assist them.
•    Identify gaps in resources for these children.
•    Recognizing addiction and destigmatizing it: the impact of guilt on identifying and treating NAS.
•    Increased awareness about the social and emotional impact of parental substance abuse on children.
