Overview

Advances in Fetology 2018, sponsored by the Cincinnati Fetal Center, will be held at Emory Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia on September 14 & 15, 2018. It is an educational event that is sure to meet the educational needs of many healthcare providers as they care for patients with pregnancies complicated by fetal anomalies. The course is ideal for genetic counselors, pediatric subspecialties, including but not limited to, neonatologists, pediatric neurologists, developmental pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, pediatric cardiologists, radiologists, neurosurgeons, residents, fellows, trainees, obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, social workers, utrasonographers, nurses and fetal center coordinators.

Regional, national and international experts scheduled to speak about minimally invasive MMC repair; ethics; nursing care in fetal therapy programs; the impact of fetal intervention on the NICU; genetics and updates on TTTS and FETO Trial.  We will discuss imaging and the role of ultrasound in prenatal diagnosis and key findings in MMC, TTTS, and CDH triage strategies, evaluation for surgery, post diagnosis counseling, and bed-side care optimization.

  2. 2. Discuss current management of complex twin pregnancies.
  3. 3. Describe the status of management for the fetus with CDH, including both prenatal and post-natal care.
  4. 4. Describe the current status of prenatal Meningomyelocele repair practice – open surgery, minimally invasive surgery, complication rates, NICU care
