Overview
Using lectures and discussion, this course aims to prepare clinicians and hemoglobinopathy counseling professionals to work effectively with patients with hemoglobinopathies by increasing their knowledge of hemoglobin disorders and variants.

Video recording or live audio or video streaming of any course materials is prohibited. 

Objectives
  1. Identify the benefits of multidisciplinary and interprofessional care when counseling and caring for patients with hemoglobinopathies.
  2. Describe foundational information related to hematology and genetics.
  3. Employ strategies to optimally manage the clinical issues associated with hemoglobinopathies.
  4. Analyze different treatment plans for different types of hemoglobinopathies.
  5. Examine psycho-social issues for patients diagnosed with a hemoglobinopathy across the lifespan.

Registration for the two-day course is $250 - Virtual Both Days

In support of improving patient care, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Specific accreditation information will be provided for each activity.

CME: This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
Nursing: This activity is approved for continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours.
Social Worker: Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is an approved provider of social work continuing education credits by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, Provider # RSX030902. This conference is approved social continued education clock hours. Social Work program area: Special Populations.
