Virtual Diabetes Management for School Nurses 2022 - 7.14.2022

This conference designed and offered by the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Diabetes Center will provide school nurses with up-to-date diabetes management information with the goal of creating an optimal learning environment for students with diabetes.

1. Review type 1 and type 2 diabetes and medications used to manage diabetes in pediatrics.
2. Discuss the importance of monitoring blood glucose at school and considerations for the school nurse.
3. Describe acute complications related to type 1 diabetes.
4. Review continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM).
5. Discuss the importance of psychosocial issues related to the management of a child with diabetes.
