2023 Advanced Practice Provider Regional Conference

 

Full day in-person conference for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and Physician Assistants. Topics this year will include Allergy, Orthopedics, Transgender Care, Pediatric Malnutrition, Diabetes, Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia updates, APRN and PA rules and law updates, and many more. There will be an opportunity to network with participants from across the region.  

 

A special discount for accommodations at Great Wolf Lodge is available to attendees for April 13th and 14th. Details are available on “Hotel” tab.

 

Opening Keynote Speaker - Colene Elridge

 

Coach Colene's decade-plus of HR experience, led to her being known as "the fixer"- she's called to help organizations and leaders create better workplaces, productive teams, and aligned results. Her career in government focused on Affirmative Action, EEO, and Diversity. She was a successful investigator of harassment and discrimination complaints and implemented strategies that resulted in more diverse and inclusive workplaces.

She is the CEO of Be More Consulting, a boutique agency designed to support organizations in creating cultures of inclusion and developing women leaders.

Her first book, Monday Morning Pep Talks, was named by Success Magazine as a top book for professional women. Colene is the founder of EmpowHer Conference, a women's leadership event that focuses on building women into leaders both at work and in their lives.

Colene has a bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology from Transylvania University, where she currently serves on the Board of Regents, and an MBA from Sullivan University. She loves yoga, her family, movies, and laughing!

 

Closing Keynote Speaker – Ashley Glass

 

Ashley is a native of Dayton Ohio, and a mother to 3 beautiful daughters.  She obtained her bachelor’s degree in health education from the University of Cincinnati, and her Masters degree in Public Health from Kent State University.  Recently Ashley also obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Mount St Joseph University, so that she can combine her clinical and public health experience to have a better reach in the medical community.  Ashley is currently the Founder and CEO of Black Women Cultivating Change where she works to reduce the stigma related to mental health in the black community. Ashley is also the Health Equity Director for All-In-Cincinnati, where she works to deepen, amplify, multiply local and regional efforts to build equitable, thriving neighborhoods.

 Ashley is also a Maternal Mental Health Manager for Best Point Behavioral Health where she is managing a project that will capture data in hopes to create a sustainable program that will meet the needs of the mental health of Mothers in some of our most vulnerable populations in Cincinnati. Ashley has a passion for Health Equity.  She fell in love with mental health during her clinical rotation for nursing school and feels it is her mission to advocate, educate, and remove barriers for Black women.  Ashley's signature quote is "life is not surface level".

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Specific accreditation information will be provided for each activity.

This activity is approved for continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours.

Cincinnati Children’s has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. The total number of approved credits is yet to be determined.
