Join us is Sabin Auditorium for our annual forum that presents current issues and innovations affecting the care of bone and marrow transplant patients. Topics include:

-Dietary Restrictions and Human Milk Trial
-Care of the patient post-transplant/adherence/considerations
-Dialysis and pheresis care for the BMT patient
-DE considerations
-Patient and Family Experience 
-Trauma Informed Nursing

There is a very limited amount of virtual attendance available

Objectives
  1. Discuss dietary restrictions and the use of human milk to prevent complications in a patient post bone marrow transplantation.
  2. Describe presentation and symptoms of bone marrow transplant complications.
  3. Summarize clinical management and pre/post op strategies for a patient undergoing bone marrow transplantation.
  4. Describe the role of Destination Excellence for the patient admitted to the BMT unit.
  5. Describe the roles and responsibilities of the interdisciplinary team to prevent further traumatization of a child who has been previously traumatized by patient care.
  6. Recognize the RN role in the patient and family experience and how it affects patient outcomes.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.


Nursing:   This activity is approved for continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours.

Pharmacy: This activity is approved for pharmacy contact hours.  

 

IPCE: This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change. 

The credit hours listed below are not final, please check back closer to the activity for final approved credit hours.
