Overview
The Annual Midwest Pediatric Cardiology Society Meeting will serve to present new research and quality improvement studies covering all areas of pediatric and adult congenital heart disease as well as acquired pediatric heart disease. Topics covered will span non-invasive imaging, catheterization and interventional cardiology, transplantation and surgical repair, palliation and outcomes. Attendees will include physicians, nurses and medical staff who care for patients with any form of congenital or acquired heart disease in the pediatric or adult congenital heart disease population. This year’s meeting will be held in conjunction with the Cardiovascular Ultrasound Conference which will provide a forum for experts to present new techniques and applications of new technologies in cardiovascular imaging.

Objectives
  1. Discuss educational and scientific advancements made in pediatric cardiology by teams in the Midwest region
  2. Review and discuss state-of-the-art pediatric cardiology and cardiovascular surgery updates
  3. Describe advances in care for patients with congenital heart disease based on new research and quality improvement efforts
  4. Apply novel imaging techniques to patients with tetralogy of Fallot to generate an optimal care plan throughout their lifespan
  5. Compare and contrast varied echocardiography lab leadership strategies
  6. Identify congenital heart disease that could present in adulthood
  7. Define pre and intraoperative imaging requirements from the congenital heart surgeon’s perspective
