Overview
The Precision Genomics Midwest (PGM) conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 23, 2023 and will feature keynote speakers Elaine Mardis, PhD, co-Executive Director of the Institute for Genomic Medicine at Nationwide Children's and John Rinn, PhD, a leading expert in the field of long noncoding RNAs, from the University of Colorado.


PGM ‘23 Themes

Viral Genomics: discussing the latest research on the genomic analysis of viruses and the implications for understanding and combatting viral infections

Artificial Intelligence in Genomics: exploring the use of AI and machine learning in genomics research, from data analysis to drug development

Therapeutic Genomics: discussing the use of large-scale genomic data to predict disease risk and inform personalized medicine

Polygenic Risk Scores: exploring the use of genomics in the development of new therapeutics and personalized medicine

Objectives
  1. Describe how precision medicine and genomics can be applied to specific communities or specialties to better understand disease or improve outcomes.
  2. Assess how genomics can be best used in a clinical setting to improve patient care.
  3. Identify resources to use genomics in diagnosis and treatment.
  4. Reflect on values and ethics for Interprofessional teams researching and utilizing rapidly changing science.
