Objectives
  1. Discuss research, ethics, and trust within the context of healthcare and medical studies.
  2. Address diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) issues in research, dispel myths, overcome barriers, and shift the focus towards generating practical solutions
  3. Analyze the evolving landscape of privacy rights and technological advancements in the context of healthcare research, with an emphasis on data privacy and regulatory oversight.
  4. Empower research team members to actively identify and enhance of the quality and ethics of healthcare research through their respective roles.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 

Physician: This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

Nursing: This activity is approved for continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours.

 

IPCE: This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change. 

Certified IRB Professional (CIP): Conference participants who hold the CIP® credential may apply up to 6 credits from this program towards their CIP recertification credit hours. According to a CNBC Survey, since the death of George Floyd inMay of 2020, 88% of companies have made DEI their number onepriority. The job search engine, Indeed, cited a jump in DEIpositions of 123% in the three months following the death ofGeorge Floyd. And Google has reported DEI as one of its a topsearch abbreviations for the past three years. With these veryextensive responses and marked commitment to DEI, the notionthat DEI is being adequately addressed is assumed. This talk willtake a deeper dive into what DEI initiatives are and what they aredesigned to accomplish.
