2024 Advanced Practice Provider Regional Conference

Full day in-person conference for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and Physician Assistants. Topics this year will include mental health, infectious diseases, ICU delirium, sepsis, asthma and many more. There will be an opportunity to network with participants from across the region.  

 

 

In addition to the main conference presentation and breakout sessions, there will be posters displayed that focus on the work done by Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and Physician Assistants.

Online registration for the conference is required. Deadline for registration is April 10, 2024. 


Opening Keynote Speaker – Dr. Rachel Thienprayoon, MD, MSCS
Chief Clinical Wellness Officer at Cincinnati Children's Hospital 

 

Rachel Thienprayoon is the Chief Clinical Wellness Officer and an Associate Professor of Anesthesia and Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She completed pediatrics residency and a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas, and her fellowship in pediatric hospice and palliative care at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH. Her research focuses on measuring clinician experiences of compassion within teams and organizations. Rachel is a member of the Board of Directors of the Palliative Care Quality Collaborative and the Chair of the National Coalition of Hospice and Palliative Care Pediatrics Division. She lives in Cincinnati, OH with her husband, Paul, and their two girls.


Objectives
  1. Apply clinical judgment using active learning strategies and current evidence based practice.
  2. Explain pathophysiologic concepts related to various pediatric diseases and anomalies and how the healthcare teams work together to manage these pediatric patients.
  3. Discuss methods to encourage professionalism, advocacy, and critical thinking in advanced practice.
  4. Discuss compassion and connection in healthcare as it relates to APP wellness, including how to address the stress of caring for children who are acutely ill or have complex, chronic conditions.
  5. Provide strategies to promote wellness for APPs to help care for their patients and themselves.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Specific accreditation information will be provided for each activity.

This activity is approved for continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours.

Cincinnati Children’s has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. The total number of approved credits is yet to be determined.
