Overview

Join us for the 2nd International Pediatric Cardio-Oncology Meeting, November 8-9, 2024.  The meeting is jointly sponsored by the Cincinnati Children’s Heart Institute, the Pediatric Cardiomyopathy Registry, and Sofia’s Hope, will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Westin. The purpose of the meeting is to bring together thought-leaders, practitioners, and advocates in the field of pediatric cardio-oncology for a uniquely focused session. Topics to be covered include:  
Emerging therapies in pediatric cardio-oncology

  • Approaches to prevention, surveillance, and therapy in patients with cardiotoxicity
  • The role of national and international learning collaboratives in pediatric cardio-oncology
  • The role for exercise in mitigating cardiometabolic and cardiovascular risk factors in survivors of pediatric cancer
  • Social determinants of outcomes in cardio-oncology
  • Living with cardiac late effects and patient education
  • Strategies to prevent and mitigate cardiotoxicity
  • Case presentations and patient discussion with experts in the field of cardio-oncology


Objectives
  1. Describe unique cardiovascular risks associated with childhood cancer survivorship
  2. Apply standardized, evidence-based protocols for cardiovascular screening and monitoring childhood cancer survivors.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary and interprofessional colleagues to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care for pediatric cancer patients and survivors throughout their cancer journey

Early registration is recommended.  Attendee cancellations received on or before October 8, 2024, are fully refundable. After October 8, 2024, no refunds will be provided.

Cincinnati: The nearest airport to the conference location is the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG; 20 min.). Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Cincinnati Children’s, Pediatric Cardiomyopathy Registry (PCMR), and Sofia’s Hope.  Cincinnati Children’s is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 

Physician: This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

Nursing: This activity is approved for continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours.

MOCpt2: Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics' (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.
