Cincinnati Pediatric Society Lecture Series: Concussion Discussion 12.4.2024

There are over 1 million traumatic brain injuries occurring annually, many of which are concussions. There is a need for specific recommendations and support to return children to learning and playing safely and without long term consequences.  In this session we will review diagnosis, management, expectations for improvement, when to refer, and more in this discussion of concussions.

• Correctly diagnose a concussion, understand basics of management, and when to refer to sports medicine or other specialty care.
• Discuss trends of concussions amongst certain sports to help families understand risk
