A Rich History
The Aspen Conference on Pediatric Gastrointestinal Disease was established by William Balistreri, MD, nearly five decades ago and has since grown into one of the most prestigious annual gatherings in the field. Each year, leading pediatric gastroenterologists, hepatologists, and specialists gather explore cutting-edge research and innovations in pediatric GI care. The conference, hosted by Cincinnati Children’s, is known for its intimate and collaborative atmosphere, allowing for rich discussions and interactions between faculty and attendees. 


The Legacy Continues:

Co-Directors, Dr. Stavra Xanthakos and Dr. Julie Bonn continue the momentum with dynamic topics and expert faculty.  This collaborative environment features engaging Q&A sessions, case presentations, and interactive discussions. The intimate setting fosters meaningful interactions between attendees and faculty. Objectives
  1. Identify the risk factors, epidemiology and mechanisms of various pediatric GI/liver diseases.
  2. Discuss the pathophysiology of pediatric GI/Liver diseases
  3. Apply evidence-based principles of management of gastrointestinal/Liver diseases in children.
  4. Foster collaboration within the interprofessional team to deliver comprehensive, high-quality care.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 

Physician:  This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

Nursing:   This activity is approved for continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours.

Physician Associate:  Cincinnati Children’s has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. The total number of approved credits is yet to be determined.

MOCpt2: Completion of this CME activity, which includes learner assessment and feedback, enables the learner to earn points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
