Overview

Join us for a full day of learning focused on advancing care for children and families impacted by prenatal substance exposure and parental substance use disorders. This year’s conference will highlight practical, trauma-informed approaches, anti-stigma communication, and collaborative caregiving strategies across systems.

Through expert-led sessions and interactive discussions, attendees will gain tools to support families and caregivers, strengthen partnerships, and implement evidence-informed interventions. Topics include trauma-informed care, breastfeeding considerations, kinship and guardianship supports, behavioral and attachment-based interventions, and community-based models of care.

  4. Utilize effective interprofessional teamwork and communication to improve the long-term outcomes of children of caregivers with substance use disorders

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Physician: This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

Nursing: This activity is approved for continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours.

Physician Assistants: Cincinnati Children’s has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. The total number of approved credits is yet to be determined..

Psychology: Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

Social Work: Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is an approved provider of Social Worker, Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist continuing education by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Provider numbers (RSX069302) and (RCT052503).

Clinical Counseling: Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is an approved provider of professional counselor continuing education credits by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, Provider #RCX111201.  This program is approved for clock hours.

Teacher: Contact Hours of Educator Credit are provided. Final approval of Certificates of Participation will be determined by your Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC).  Keep all Certificates of Participation with your Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP).

Occupational Therapists: This CE activity meets OT requirements for the state of Ohio. Occupational therapists must retain proof of content (e.g., brochure, agenda, notes, etc.) and proof of credit and verification of participation (e.g., certificate or transcript.)

Speech Language Pathology & Audiology: This activity provides credit through Cincinnati Children's accreditation with Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education (JA). This activity can be counted towards ASHA professional development hours (PDH).

Peer Support: OMHAS accepts continuing education credits from a continuing education program that meets the professional needs of the intended clientele. Peer Support Specialists must retain proof of content (e.g., brochure, agenda, notes, etc.) and verification of participation (e.g., certificate or transcript.)

Department of Developmental Disabilities: Application for credit has been submitted.

Guardian ad Litem: Application for credit has been submitted.

Continuing Legal Education: Application for credit has been submitted.

School Psychologist: Ohio School Psychologists: APA and NASP Approved Courses: APA and NASP Approved Providers DO NOT send course and attendance information to the OSPA office for recording. OSPA CE registrants need to mail or email a copy of the certificate stating that the course is APA or NASP approved.

IPCE: This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change. 

 The credit hours listed below are not final, please check back closer to the activity for final approved credit hours.
