Overview
Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center offers many opportunities for health care professionals to continue their professional education and training. The continuing education provided will help achieve the best medical and quality of life outcomes for patients and families.

Objectives
  1. Identify the risk factors, epidemiology and mechanisms of various pediatric cerebrovascular diseases
  2. Discuss the pathophysiology of pediatric cerebrovascular diseases and stroke evolution
  3. Utilize the evidence-based principles of management for cerebrovascular diseases with or without stroke in children
  4. Collaboratively treat cerebrovascular diseases across profession and discipline.

Registration

Due to the current state with COVID-19 in our country, the planning team has decided to postpone the live course originally scheduled on July 13-17, 2020.  Mark your calendars for July 12-16, 2021 as we continue with the same content.  

In place of the live course, we are still bringing our community of providers together for a virtual session on July 13, 2020 from 1-3pm EST.  Below is a list of topics to be covered in our virtual session.  

  • Acute pediatric stroke interventions and treatment: current controversies and complications
  • Critical Care Stressors in Stroke Management 
  • Difficulties in Neurorehabilitation therapy

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Specific accreditation information will be provided for each activity.

Physicians:   This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
Nurses:       This activity is approved for continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours.
ABP & ABIM MOC Part 2:  Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) and American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) programs. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP and ABIM MOC credit.

IPCE: This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change.
